Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan’s throat surgery has gone off well and Hrithik Roshan shared the first picture of his dad post surgery. Rakesh Roshan looked well fit and he was standing on his feet in the post surgery picture. The picture was taken in a hospital and he is surrounded by all the family members.
Sharing the picture, Hrithik Roshan wrote# "And he's up and about. Power of love! Thank you all for being with him and helping him power through. Today was a great day."
After the surgery, the 69-year-old filmmaker told news agency IANS that he is fine. "I am feeling all right, thank you. Surgery is done and all is OK. God is great. I am going to be back home on Friday or Saturday," Rakesh Roshan texted IANS.
A source close to the family told IANS, "Ever since the diagnosis, Rakeshji has been upbeat cheerful and not at all daunted by the setback. He went into surgery with his wife, brother (composer Rajesh Roshan), son Hrithik and daughter Sunaina by his side and the surgery went smoothly. He is expected home by the end of this week."
On Tuesday, Hrithik Roshan shared on social media that his father has been diagnosed with throat cancer and will undergo surgery.
Hrithik Roshan Instagrammed a gym photo with his dad and shared the news. In his post, he said that his dad would not "miss gym even on surgery day" and that he was in "full spirits." Hrithik wrote, "Asked my dad for a picture this morning... Knew he wouldn't miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his concern and send off wishes to Rakesh Roshan.
