Bollywood pray for the safe return of IAF pilot in Pak custody

Currently, the wing commander of IAF, Abhinandan Varthaman is in Pak custody and a viral video of his being beaten up in Pakistan is going viral. His family in Chennai is urging the government to make arrangement for the safe return of Abhinandan.


Everybody is praying the safe return of the IAF pilot and our Bollywood celebrities like Arjun Rampal, Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar, Karan Patel to Nakuul Mehta took to their social media handle and prayed for the safe return of Abhinandan.

“Thoughts and strength to #WingCommandarAbhinandan amd his familly....India stands tall and proud with you....,” Karan wrote in his tweet.

Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh postponed the unveiling of his Madame Tussauds’ wax statue at an event in New Delhi on Thursday, in the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

“Amidst the tensions rising across the nation, (we) have decided to re-schedule the launch of Madame Tussauds wax statue... Will post (a) new date soon,” Diljit tweeted on Wednesday.

“Our soldiers are fighting hard to protect the nation. We stand by our soldiers,” he said, adding “Bring back Abhinandan” in reference to the pilot in Pakistan’s custody.

Arjun Kapoor tweeted, "My prayers with #wingcommanderabhinandan hope he is safe & we see him back on home soil very soon..."

Arjun Rampal wrote, "Heartbreaking yet thought provoking the images of our #WingCommanderAbhinandan captured by Pakistani army. Yes emotions run high, yet all one can wonder, Is war really the road to peace here? Just pray that Abhinandan returns home peacefully and safe. "

Karan Johar tweeted, "Thoughts and strength to #WingCommandarAbhinandan amd his familly....India stands tall and proud with you...."

Many videos surfaced of Abhinanadan in Pak custody. In one of the videos, Abhinandan told them who he was, gave them his service number, and identified himself as a Hindu. When a gruff voice demanded -- "What else?" -- Wing Commander Varthaman replied: "I'm sorry sir...that's all I'm supposed to tell you."
