‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’ actress Shilpa Shinde, who popularly enacts the role ‘Angoori Bhabhi’ joined congress in the presence of Mumbai Congress Committee president Sanjay Nirupam and party leader Charan Singh Sapra.

The actress feels Congress is the party that can bring a change and she would like to see Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister of the country. According to reports, the 'Bigg Boss 11' winner might contest Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from North Mumbai. However, the actress has not confirmed anything yet.
A source informs, "After Shilpa won Bigg Boss 11, she got several offers for shows but she doesn't want to do anything frivolous. What has attracted her to politics might be her desire to do something for the people."
Recently, she walked out of the show citing health issue. Shilpa Shinde was born on 28 August 1977 to a Maharashtrian middle-class family. Her father Dr. Satyadeo Shinde was the judge of a High Court while mother Geeta satyadeo Shinde is a homemaker. She has two elder sisters and a younger brother Ashutosh. In 2013, Shilpa Shinde lost her father to Alzheimer.
Interesting, Shilpa joined congress few days after Bollywood actress Isha Koppikar joined BJP. Recently, Bengali actress Moushumi Chatterjee also joined BJP.
